Reading Material

M FREEMAN
2011 (Revised)
The Digital SLR Handbook
Ilex Press

This book has just arrived and I think its going to be interesting reading about the theory behind lens circle of confusion and other technically issues. I have realised that you do not need to read this sort of book as a novel but rather to read the sections that apply to you at the time.

C GREY
2004
Master lighting guide
Amhurst Media

I have had this book for a while but I have re visited it at the start of the first assignment, looking at the placement of lights and reflectors, a very useful book although not an academic book as such.

T LACKEY
2009
The art of children's photography
Amhurst Media

Again a book I have had for some time and again not an academic book but nether the less a good starting point for some poses and ideas for children's photography.

J WEBB
2010
Basics Creative Photography 01 Design Principles
AVA Academy

This book is useful for design purposes, I have used it several times before on my Art of Photography Course and have found it has clarified several points for me.

R GOLDEN

Masters of photography
Carlton

this book showcases classic photographic artists of our time some who are still living some who are not, a very interesting book as it shows a variety of different styles, giving the reader food for thought.

C COTTON

The Photograph as Contemporary Art
Thames and Hudson

This book explores whether photograph is art, I must admit I have had this book for some time I purchased it when do the 'Art of Photography module but never really got to grips with it something I need to address now.

M FREEMAN
2009
The Complete Guide to Black and White Digital Photography
Ilex

another book by M Freeman ( I have quite a few now), I intend to use this to understand the process of black and white photography a bit more.

L WELLS

Critiquing is all part of the course and this book helps me to understand how to go about it.
